I fall into a dream

Claire Katsion

When I see you, I recall

The emotions that did befall

My raging heart—so soft and kind

Yet so painful upon my mind.

As the stars above do lightly unfold,

A genesis of tragic stories untold

Flow through me beautifully like wine

And our brief but stately histories intertwine

Ah, but where have you gone, my dear?

When your secret passions and fears are near

The shadows speak, echoing over your thoughts

And the silence which covers us leaves me distraught

Is it true what they say? That such infinite distance

Or such close perspective wraps you in its trance

Enclosing, forgetting words from another and of you

Or me, patches of black and white, what is false or true
